The Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths Charitable Trust

Registered Charity No: 216614

Charitable objectives remain very much at the heart of the Livery Companies. The Charitable Trust of the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths principal aim is to provide support to aspiring blacksmiths; this is normally given in the form of bursaries to students at recognised blacksmithing colleges.

"I would like to firstly thank you and the Worshipful Company for your help financially; I would also like to thank you for making it possible for me to travel around the UK in search of blacksmithing opportunities. I have recently secured a job with George James and Son in Kettering and it would not have been possible without your help."

The Company also makes regular donations to a number of causes with which it has special connections. Finally, remaining funds are dispersed to other causes at the discretion of the Charity Committee who act as trustees.

Applications for grants are more likely to be considered if the applicant has properly researched our Charitable Trust and are from smaller charities. Unsuccessful applications will not always be acknowledged.
